I MARIA PULOS Five Queens Uie For Basin Sweetiseart Title A new Uintah Basin Sweetheart Sweet-heart will be crowned at the annual Sweetheart Ball to be held Saturday, Feb. 13th, at Union High School, with entries en-tries from five schools vieing for the honor. The folio w'ing Sweetheart candidates have been chosen to represent their respective schools: Miss Sherral Ames, Al-tamont; Al-tamont; Miss Monta Rae Caldwell, Cald-well, Uintah; Miss Carol Ann Brady, Duchesne; Miss Maria Pulos, Union; and Miss Myrna Newman, Tabiona. A panel of five judges will be selected, one from each represented rep-resented area, to select the Uintah Uin-tah Basin Sweetheart, with the basis of the ' judging being on poise, personality and general appearance. The sweetheart will be crowned by the student body of her own school, and gifts will be presented to each candidate can-didate by Miss LuAnn Morrill, president of the Associated Student Council. Duane Rich-ens, Rich-ens, student body president of Union High School, will be in charge of the crowning. According to Jerry Burdick, reporter for the ASC candidates candi-dates will choose their own escorts es-corts for the promenade. It is requested that there be no corsages for the semi-formal affair, except those worn by the Sweetheart candidates. Admission will be one dollar per couple and seventy-five cents for stags. Tal Wardle's orchestra will furnish the music, mus-ic, and the public is cordially invited to attend the ever-popular dance of the school season. |
