Mrs. Jesse Hullinger and small daughter and Mrs. Elton Kettle and' two children enjoyed a trip to Vernal one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmar Parrish and three sons enjoyed a family get-to-gether at the home of Mrs. Parrish's parents, Mr, and- Mrs. Elbert El-bert Smith at Whiterocks, Mother's Day. SEE SLIDES OF MEXICO The students at Alterra enjoyed the pictures and slides shown by Douglas Phillips Friday afternoon. Mr. Phillips has just returned from an LDS mission to Mexico. COMES BACK HOME Mrs. Eva Bell.on has returned to Ballard after spending the winter win-ter months visiting members of her family in various places. Mrs. Bellon declares there is no place like home. She will be back in her home as soon as the Brisbins move back on their farm. Arlin is here with his mother. RELIEF SOCIETY After Mrs. Beatrice Lundberg presents the social science lesson on Tuesday, the Relief Society will have no more lessons, just a work day once a month. On Tuesday, May 29 there will be a closing social. Mrs. Earl Gardner has been on the sick list this past week. No Relief Society was held' on Tuesday, May 15 because so many had gone to Roosevelt on Monday. Mrs. Dan Crumbo of Fort Duchesne Du-chesne was a substitute teacher in Mrs. Erma Anderton's room on Thursday, and Mrs. Leland Angus taught Clair HoUingsworth's room on Friday. Supt. Max Abbott and Floyd Workman of Vernal were at the AlterTa school on Friday. They had also been down to the new school house on the highway which is really progressing. Wm. Jenkins is employed at Meeker, Colo, for the summer months. A good representation from Ballard ward attended' the Seminary Semi-nary graduation on Sunday evening. eve-ning. D. E..Robinson of Salt Lake City visited with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Einer-son, Einer-son, last week. Morley Dean of Independence has purchased the land near Alterra, Al-terra, formerly owned by Douglas Bryant. CORRECTION It was Mrs. Gareth Anderson who gave a talk on the Joy of Motherhood, given in the Mother's Day program, instead in-stead of Mr. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle are selling their property in Ballard and plan on moving to Salt Lake City to be nearer medical care for their children. Don Robinson took his sister, Mrs. Blaine Einerson, to Salt Lake City last week for a medical check-up. We are very happy to know that Mrs. Einerson is improving im-proving very satisfactorily since her recent operation. Von Haslem left Monday with the state road crew to work on a road on the west side of Strawberry Straw-berry Lake. They -plan on being on this job several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Chandler of Salt Lake City spent the weekend week-end with Mrs. "Tex" Ross. Lucky Ross, who spent several days in Salt Lake City, returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. Don Robinson of Salt Lake City Teturned to their home on Monday, after assisting in the Blaine Einerson home for some time. |
