Show Dance Hall Opens Residents here were happy to hear Rivoli Dance Hall was going to be opened again this year, and everyone is wishing Fran Harrison Harris-on the best of luck in this adventure. ad-venture. The best dances ever held in the Basin were when Rivoli was at its peak. The hall was constantly con-stantly packed and the best orchestras or-chestras in the state were brought in for the music. Here's hoping we see such crowds again. ATTEND STAKE MEETINGS IN DUCHESNE SUNDAY Stake Relief Society convention in Duchesne, Sunday, was attended attend-ed by Mrs. Verna Lusty, Vera Larsen, Ha Tanner, Ida Horrocks, Barbara Lusty', Arlene Gilbert, Gladys Capson, Mrs. Steve Hamilton, Hamil-ton, Cecelia Gilbert and Bessie Lusty. The Jr. Gleaners had a party in their class Tuesday evening. They worked on their Treasures of Truth books and refreshments were served to the Jr. Gleaner and Explorer classes. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Larsen, Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen, Mrs. Cynthia Cyn-thia Larsen and Lynn Ross attended attend-ed the Seminary graduation exercises exer-cises in Roosevelt Sunday evening. Gale Larsen, Carol Larsen and Gary Thompson were members of the graduating class. Mrs. Minnie Pace of Upalco visited vis-ited at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Johnson. She accompanied Mrs. Johnson and Beverly Olsen to Vernal Ver-nal where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Gail Eldredge. Mr. and Mrs. Milt Larsen took Mrs. Cynthia Larsen to Bridgeland Friday, where she visited Mrs. Chastie Neilson. They went on to Duchesne and spent the afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Milton Poulson. Attending the Sunday School convention were Nancy Tanner, Irvin Johnson, LaGrande Gilbert and Marsha Lusty. Too many meetings prevented a large crowd at Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday night, but those in attendance at-tendance enjoyed hearing our recently re-cently returned missionary, Gayle Gilbert, speak. Mrs. Merle Ross accompanied E. Floyd Ross to Salt Lake Sunday on a business trip. Coming from Roosevelt to attend at-tend Sunday night services were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bird and daughters, Deon, Delaine and Mildred. Mil-dred. Charlie reports his sister, Mrs. Sarah Neilson of Myton, has returned re-turned from Colorado, where she has spent the winter. At present she is confined to a wheel chair, due to a hip fracture received during dur-ing the winter. |
