Show IVHITEROCKS Madeena Smith Schools Visit Fish Hatchery A bus load of Avalon school children and teachers visited the fish hatchery and' the Whiterocks school Thursday. They ate their lunch here with this school. Other schools visiting the hatchery hatch-ery here this week were the Maes-er Maes-er and Alterra schools. The Donald Rasmussen family of Clearfield and the Glen Killian family of Salt Lake visited the Marinus Christensen family over the Mother's Day weekend. ANNIVERSARY OBSERVED Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Davis Morrill, Mr. and Mrs. Laren Ross and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Merkley, all of Tridell, gathered at the Elbert Smith home Monday night to help the Smiths celebrate their wedding anniversary. anniver-sary. A very enjoyable evening was spent and a delicious lunch served. Mrs. Dora Griffin returned Wednesday Wed-nesday from Eureka, Calif., where she has been with her father who was ill for the past six weeks. SECRET PAL PARTY The Primary officers and teachers teach-ers held a Secret Pal party Friday night at the Blayne Morrill home. Games were played and a delicious lunch was served. Mrs. Nellie Merkley and her son, Charles Merkley, visited the Elbert Smiths Friday. They came from Logan to attend the dedication of the Tridell chapel Saturday afternoon. after-noon. Douglas Phillips of the Bennett ward, a recently returned missionary mission-ary from the Mexican mission, gave a talk and showed some of his pictures of that part of the country in our MIA meeting Tuesday. Glen Oldroy'd, county elementary elemen-tary school supervisor, was here Thursday taking pictures of miniature min-iature dinosaur animals that the children in Ned Gines' room at school had made of paper. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Griffin went to Ogden Friday to attend the funeral fu-neral of a nephew of Mr. Griffin on Saturday. TO SURFACE ROAD The road supervisor was here looking at the road Thursday. Work will begin soon to put the blacktop on the road from our school to the Lapoint road. |
