The Bluebell Scouts received first place for hav-a hav-a the cleanest camp and the Ex-; Ex-; ',rers received second place for i 5ie cleanest camp. The place of the camp was at Lime Kill Spring. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith and family of Bountiful visited over '.' the weekend here with relatives. HEAR ABOUT SON'S MARRIAGE EM GERMANY Mrs. Sam Jenkins was thrilled on Mother's Day when she received re-ceived a phone call from her son, Henry, who is in Germany, serving serv-ing in the army Henry has been there for the past three and a half years, and will come to the United Unit-ed States in November. Another surprise Henry stated that he is very happily married. L Miss Hazel Jenkins of Ogden spent the weekend here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jen- Mr. and Mrs. James Adams of Vernal, are the happy parents of a new baby girl, born Tuesday, May 15th in a Vernal hospital. Their little daughter, Rose Ann, is here with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Bird'. Weston Bates of Duchesne took care of business in Bluebell Satur-I, Satur-I, day. CLASS IS ENDED The Teacher Trainer class ended end-ed their winter's work on Sunday with graduation exercises held at Mt. Emmons on Sunday afternoon. Principal Rondo Harmon was the teacher. Those from Bluebell receiving re-ceiving certificates were Dorthella s Murray, Janet Seeley, Shana Lee f Winkler, Thelma Cook, Drew ' Goodrich, Jay Goodrich, Lynn Cook, Bob Goodrich and Rita Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Goodrich went to Provo on Sunday to take Mrs. Virginia Kimball and three children, who will board' a bus from there and return to their home in California, following a three weeks visit here with relatives. rela-tives. Mr. and Mrs. Movell Seeley came on Sunday to visit with relatives rel-atives here and in Roosevelt. They returned to their home in Ogden ' I Tuesday. FAREWELL PARTY A Sunday School class held a farewell surprise party for Danny Appadocca at the U. B. Winkler home on Thursday night. Those present were Janet Seeley, Rita Powell, Carma Atwood, Carolyn Goodrich, Chad Winkler, June Powell, Calvin Powell, Michael Lisonbee, Billy Whitehead, Gene Barrett, Kent Williams and Ralph Goodrich, and' Mrs. Lois Goodrich. Good-rich. The evening was spent playing play-ing games. Hot chocolate and cake were served. GROUP GRADUATION FROM SEMINARY Seminary graduation exercises were held Monday night at Mt. Emmons. A large crowd from here attended. Those graduating from Bluebell were Phil Mathews, Bob Goodrich, Jay Goodrich, Jerry Bird, Daphne Lisonbee, Dorthella Murray, LaRose Monsen, Elaine Jenkins, Garth Remington, Drew Goodrich and' Brent Hancock. Fred Mathews came Saturday for his wife and three children, who have been staying here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Goodrich. They are making thier home in Salt Lake City. Fred has employment in Midvale. Mrs. John Goodrich went to Salt Lake City with them for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Johnson left Thursday morning for Salt Lake City following a short visit here with relatives. Mrs. Johnson entered enter-ed a Salt Lake City hospital for medical observation and treatment for five days. Their two small girls are in Vernal with relatives. The Johnson's home is in Cody, Wyoming. |
