Show Roosevelt Ward Plans Dinner And Floor Show Continuing with their desire to create activity and to give the ward membership an opportunity oppor-tunity to see some fine talent perform, officials of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, announced an-nounced this week, through Bishop R. Vernon Larsen. that on Friday, June 22. a banquet and floor show is on the agenda for this month. According to Bishop Larsen, a group of fine singing and dancing talent will be brought to Roosevelt to present a floor show that promises to be tops from an entertainment standpoint. stand-point. In charge of the floor show are Mr. and Mrs. Omni Winterton, who report the performers per-formers will come from Salt Lake City and Kamas. and have achieved prominence on the stage and on television. Heading the list of performers perform-ers is Miss Barbara Jean Foote, who recently won the television sweepstakes contest in Salt Lake City with her acrobatic dancing skill. . Another notable in the dance entertainment circle is Marilyn Powers, who not only dances, but is a Salt Lake City dance instructor. An 8-year-old youngster who has been heralded herald-ed as a comer is Lynn Winter-ton, Winter-ton, from Kamas, who dances solos, plays the .accordian, and will be featured in solo and duet du-et performances. His brother. Dee, and Miss Foote recently received a great ovation as they danced at the Utah Stock show in Salt Lake City, and entertained enter-tained the Music Federation in Salt Lake. They will be featured together in several performances. performan-ces. Dee also does an Indian dance. Vocalist on the program will be Miss Monta Lu Walker, of Kamas, who rated the lead in the school's opera and is highly regarded for her talent. A local boy, Eldon Winterton, has also been listed with the performers as a vocalist. Another 8-year-old youngster. Dot Simmons, will team up with little Dee Winterton to do a few accordian duets. The ward Relief Society, under un-der the direction of Mrs. Bruce V. Smith, president, will prepare pre-pare and serve the banquet that is scheduled between the hours of 6 and 7:30 p. m., with the floor show at 8:30. Members of the ward will sell tickets in advance of the program. |
