Show Altonah Mrs. Ethel Beebe The elementary grades have been moved to Altamont this year. Mrs. Madeline Perkins i; teaching. Aldon Carroll and Fenton Powell are driving the buses. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Oliver and Mrs. Ira Draper, of Price, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen. The judges at the Primary election Tuesday were Mrs. Mary Young, Ed Davis and Harold Har-old Morris. Word was received Monday of the death of Howard H. Dunn, of Helper, who passed away Sept. 4. Mr. Dunn and family were residents of Altonah Al-tonah for many years. He was postmaster for three years, and moved to Helper about ten years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Burke and family, of Vernal, spent Sunday Sun-day at the Gilbert Beebe home. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Jacobson started a fire Monday which destroyed 550 bales of hay. Mrs. Dru Allred and Mrs. Ty Kolb went to Salt Lake last week with Mrs. Clyde Niel-son, Niel-son, of Roosevelt and Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Kolb. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Litizzette, of LaJolla, Calif., spent a week visiting Mrs. Elva Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, Sr. and other relatives. Norman Maxfield, son of Mr. and Mrs, Linford Maxfield, broke his arm Monday when he fell from a tree. Norman broke the same arm July 25 at the Altamont rodeo. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Redden, of San Francisco, visited friends in Altonah during the week. Clinton Bowden went to Salt Lake City Thursday to receive medical treatment. Mrs. Sara Murray, of Salt Lake, is visiting her brother, Claude Murray, and sister, Mrs. Margaret Maxfield, and families. fam-ilies. The Mutual had a corn roast Tuesday night north of town. A large crowd from here had chest x-rays at Altamont Friday and Saturday. Dave Clark, of Ft. Duchesne, hag been a guest at the home of his brother, Jerry, Mrs. George Carroll and children chil-dren spent the weekend with relatives in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Page and family attended a family reunion re-union at Kamas last weekend. George Carroll attended a Dry Gulch Irrigation Co. director's di-rector's meeting at Roosevelt Saturday night. Floyd Case, of Mt. Emmons, was in town Friday on business. Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe were Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Hall and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Guyman and daughter. Vernal; Ver-nal; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Kir-by Kir-by and son, Salt Lake City; and W. B. Stoddard, Randlett, Mrs. Warren Foote and Mrs. Melissa Johnson visited with their mother and sister, Mrs. Mary Bowden and son, Louie, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Delmore Ivie and baby, of Strawberry, were weekend guests of Mrs. Ivie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert 'Clark. |
