Show County Farmers Signing For '51 Crop Protection - Duchesne county multiple producers have started signing up for federal crop insurance protection on their 1951 crops, and all eligible producers are urged by Reed Lyons, chairman of the Duchesne County PMA committee, to make this sound business proposition of protecting protect-ing their 1951 crop investments a part of their farming plans. He points out that the logical time to take out federal crop insurance protection is now, so that the money and labor which will be invested in the production produc-tion effort will be protected. The federal crop insurance premium that the farmer pays, he said, represents a small addition ad-dition to his investment of money mon-ey and labor in producing a crop, and with this addition the farmer protects what he invests against losses from the many unavoidable causes that can destroy de-stroy or severely damage any farmer's crops. Federal crop insurance in-surance offers the farmer the kind of protection of his investment invest-ment that has been standard practice of businessmen for many years, Mr. Lyons continued. contin-ued. Any person in Duchesne coun- ty with an interest in a 1951 crop at planting time, may apply ap-ply for protection. Producers ; who apply on, or before, October Oc-tober 31, will have their applica- tions accepted and their federal crop insurance policy issued to them before they invest the money and labor which the policy pol-icy protects, unless, of course, they should be among the few that will be rejected in the interest in-terest of keeping the local county coun-ty program as sound as possible. Applications are now being taken at the PMA office, Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, and by Richard Olsen, Neola; Loryn Ross, Arcadia; and LeGrand Mecham, Mt. Home. |
