Show VETERANS OR U.M.T. Dear Editor: I think it's about time that we stopped making the veteran of World War II the goat in the Korean war. Every day these men are being recalled to active ac-tive duty, while other young men their own age pursue their business or professions without serving that first day in the Armed Forces. It's time for the people to write their congressmen recommending recom-mending Universal Military Training as the fairest method of providing a long-rangte military mili-tary strength for the United States. A huge standing establishment estab-lishment is not in the American tradition. A strong reserve, made up of young men who have completed four , months' training, plus a small regular force, would be in the American tradition and . be vastly more economical.
