Show ftlontwel-Monarch By Betiie Mower Farewell Party For Serviceman A farewell supper was held Friday night at Mr. and Mrs. Parley Alexander's for Roy Pearson, of Salt Lake City. Attending At-tending the supper were Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Laren Reynolds, of Vernal, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fenn, of Montwel. Roy is leaving for the service. CELEBRATES 8th BIRTHDAY Dianne Mower celebrated her 8th birthday, Sunday, with a group of friends. Those present were Carol Brown, Sheryl Cart-wright, Cart-wright, Vivian Hamblin, Pearl Blanchard, Sonja and Dianne Alexander, Carl and Karen Mower and Alden Hamblin. June Hardman visited with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hardman and family, of Ioka, Thursday. Fred Brown spent the weekend week-end at home. He is attending the Utah State Agricultural College. Mrs. James Powell and sons. Boyd and Nelson, are visiting in Salt Lake City this week. Remo, Delmer and Bishop James Hamblin, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larsen went to .Victor, .Vic-tor, Idaho, this week, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Larsen's brother, Elmo Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Boren are the proud parents of a five pound 11 ounce baby girl, born Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Roberts have moved their trailer house from Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larsen's Lar-sen's to 'Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blanchard's place. Miss Peggy Boren was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon from school, when she wrenched her back in physical education. The M Men basketball team played Roosevelt Thursday evening, eve-ning, winning by a forfeit. Among those from here that attended the Ballard Gold and Green Ball were, Doug and Donna Brown, Wayne Brown, Karen Nelson, Delane Parry, Sandra Powell, Gardell Powell, Fred and Roselee Brown, Dawn Pace, Lester Thompson, Sharon Shaw and Arvin Hullinger. Arvin Hullinger was taken to the hoi-pital from school. Friday, when he suffered from a slight case of appendicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson, and James Powell attended a birthday party held for Henrie Nelson, of Ioka, Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs.- Levi J. Ander-ton, Ander-ton, of Duchesne, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Brown attended Mutual in Ballard, Tuesday night to help the Beehive Bee-hive and Scouts with their dances. dan-ces. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Thompson are the proud parents of a six lb. 7 oz. baby girl, born Dec. 26.
