Show RAT CONTROL NEEDED Utahn should control rats this fall as they move from the fields to the farms and communities, advises Dr. George F. Knowlton, Utah State Agricultural College extension ex-tension entomoligist. "We should prevent loss and waste of grains, poultry feeds and other food on farms and in homes. This can be done through the use of Warfarin or Warfarin-like baits. These should be kept exposed in a safe-type bait box. This insures that rats and mice will be killed as they feed repeatedly. It is necessary that the rodents feed several successive days or they will not be killed. Warfarin and similar baits will keep farms and cities free from rats and mice only if we we all cooperate in the control program, Dr. Kowlton explained. |
