Show Delia Spencer Has 79th Birthday Mrs. Delia Spencer celebrated her 79th birthday Sunday. Mrs. Spencer has lived in Neola the past 24 years. Her husband died 19 years ago. She still manages to take care of herself and do small odd .tasks. She has two grandsons from Neola who are filling fill-ing LDS missions. They are Orlo Kae and Rawlin D. Spencer. ' v The Neola Relief Society had their work day Tuesday and they quilted two quilts which they plan to sell at their bazaar on Nov. 6. VISITORS AT SPENCER HOME Mrs. Clifton Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Morrill, who have been visciting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer and with Lyle's parents in Whiterocks, returned re-turned to California Thursday. Mrs. Jenkins has been here the past six weeks while her husband, who is in the Navy, was overseas. over-seas. Lyle Morrill is a brother-in-law of Mrs. Jenkins. He is in the Navy and was here on leave. Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Morrill are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer. MIA ROAD SHOW HELD The Road Show was held last Tuesday evening in Neola. This is sponsored by the MIA workers. A large crowd was in attendance. Lloyd and Neil Duncan who are attending the BYU this year were home over the weekend visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. McNeil Duncan. SACRAMENT SPEAKERS High Councilman Lester Gardner and home missionaries, Jennie Woodward and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Olsen went to Ioka ward last Sunday evening to speak in sacrament meeting, High Councilman Council-man Charles Crozier and home missionaries' Mr. and Mrs. Claire Duncan went to speak at the sacrament services in the Roosevelt Roose-velt third ward. Mrs. Alice Olsen entertained at her home last Wednesday. The honored guests were the little kindergarten students. The occasion occa-sion was the celebrating of her small son's birthday. Bryce had five candles on his birthday cake. Games and refreshments were en-joyde en-joyde by the young ones. Mrs. Norma Crozier entertained the kindergarten students in honor of her little daughter (Charlene), who celebrated her 5th birthday. Games and refreshments were enjoyed, en-joyed, and each child was presented pre-sented with a small gift. MECHAMS IN ACCIDENT Mrs. James Mecham and her husband met with an accident last week enroute to a funeral in Vernal for Mr. Mecham's nephew. Mrs. Mecham has been staying at the Peter Duncan home taking care of her mother and father. The Mechams suffered from shock and bruises, but are home again in Orem. Word was received by their relatives here in Neola that they are well again. Mrs. Mech-anm's Mech-anm's car and the other car involved in-volved in the accident were both I demolished. |
