Show 72 Awards Are Presented At Court Of Honor One hundred one persons gathered gather-ed at the Ioka LDS Chapel Sunday, October 7, to see 72 scout awards presented at the monthly Court of Honor of the Roosevelt District, Utah National Parks Council, reports re-ports Sharon Cummings, advancement advance-ment chairman. Among the 72 awards were 7 Star, 1 Explorer Gold Award, 3 first class, two explorer ratings, two explorer emergency service awards, and 57 merit badges. Receiving the Explorer Gold award was Donald Heed, Ballard Post 2252. Coming from four units, the boys receiving Star awards were: David Hullinger and Larry K. Wilkerson of Roosevelt Ward troop 251; Newell Richens, Danny Uresk and Mac Murray of Myton troop 253;. Bart Killian of Ioka troop 264; and Karl White of Ballard Post 2252. First Class badges were awarded to: Louis Rawlings, Roosevelt 3rd troop 7750; and Kent C. Memmott and Allan Swenson of Roosevelt ward troop 251. Receiving Explorer emergency service awards were: Theo Anderson Ander-son and Reed Rasmussen of Ballard Bal-lard Post 2252. Explorer rating went to Donald Heed of Post 2252 for navigation and outdoors. Sixteen merit badges were 'earned 'earn-ed by Sharon Anderson's troop 251. Larry K. Wilkerson received fire-manship, fire-manship, basketry, public health, and camping; Allan Swenson citizenship in the home, agriculture and poultry keeping; David Hullinger Hul-linger one in camping; John Allred his for firemanship, camping and public health; Paul R. Watkins for beef production, firemanship and citizenship in the nation; and Kent C. Memmott for printing and scholarship. Wilmer Murray's Myton troop 253 earned 19 merit badges: Floyd Nielsen received his for public health, nature, farm mechanics and safety; Danny Uresk for home repairs re-pairs and citizenship in the home; Frank Martin in fishing, gardening and woodcarving; Billy Fausett for nature, farm home and its planning plann-ing and scholarship; Kenny Ross for home repairs; and Jerry Kettle Ket-tle in gardening. Other Myton merit badges were: Merlyn Perry for nature and citizenship citi-zenship in the community; Mac Murray for first aid; Mike Kettle Ket-tle for first aid and gardening. From Roosevelt Fourth ward, Jon Larsen and Jimmy Reidhead earned photography merit badges, Carl Larsen bird study and Richard Rich-ard Edwards bird study. Kelly Sprouses Roosevelt Third Ward troop 750 received four merit badges: John David Andrews for swimming; Randy Labrum in art and home repairs; and Louis Rawlings Rawl-ings for corn growing. Neil Anderton of Roosevelt ward Post 2251 earned printing and personal per-sonal fitness merit badges. Max Todd's Ballard Post 2252 saw Karl White receive farm home and its planning merit badge; Theo Anderson public speaking and safety; DeLoy Squire farm layout and building arrangements, and soil and water conservation and Don Kettle farm layout and building build-ing arrangements and corn growing- From troop 252 of Ballard, Merrill Mer-rill Rasmussen earned b'ird study, swimming, and farm home and its planning; and Spencer Squire, scoutmaster, received citizenship in the home and citizenship in the community. Advancement buckskins are slated slat-ed for the Nov. 4 Court of Honor honoring the outstanding troop and outstanding post during the 1955-56 advancement contest in the Roosevelt District, concluded Mr. Cummings. |
