Show Firemen Sponsor Successful Banquet Thursday Members of the Roosevelt Fire Department, their wives and guests, enjoyed their annual an-nual banquet at the American Legion Hall last' Thursday evening, eve-ning, with Elmer Eldredge and Cliff Rockwood in charge of arrangements. The invocation was given by Hajrold Dillman, Acting as master of ceremonies ceremon-ies for the successful event was the fire chief, Bert -Burgess, who introduced Mayor J. V. McLea as the guest speaker. A musical program was presented pre-sented by boys and girls of the department employees and consisted con-sisted of the following numbers: vocal solo, Dorthy Dillman, accompanied ac-companied by Leota Pitt: piano solo. Burke Eldredge; trumnet solo, Nancy Rockwood; dance, JoAnn Burgess; and oiano solo, Leota Pitt. Special guests invited to participate par-ticipate in the activity were members of the State Highway Patrol, the Roosevelt city marshals, mar-shals, Mayor McLea and Duar.e Hacking, of Salt Lake City, immediate im-mediate past chief of the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Fire Department. The thirty-four attending werp seated at tables decorated in keeping with a fireman theme, with red roses centering the head table, completed with a miniature white fire truck and red and white lighted tapers. Other tables were decorated j with, stocks and red and whit.j carnations. Mrs. Eldredge was I responsible for table decora- , tions. Members of the American Le-I Le-I gion Auxiliary prepared and served the banquet. |
