Show Mtowah MhlBjeebe Party Honors Mrs, Clinton Bowden A group of friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Bowden Saturday night to surprise Mrs. Bowden on her birthday anniversary. The evening was spent playing canasta. ca-nasta. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rochel, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Case, Mrs. Mary Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Dru Allred, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Riley, Mrs. Mary Bowden, Louie Bowden and Preston Allen. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen, who are employed in Whiterocks, were here Saturday to look after af-ter their farm. Les Pearson, of Boneta, was in Altonah Saturday. BUI dark, of T a b i o n a, brought his mother, Mrs. Albert Clark, home from Heber Monday. Mon-day. She had been visiting her daughters, Mrs Nova Turnbow, of Keetley. and Mrs. Lafonda Thompson, of Heber. Among those from Altonah who' attended the Gold and Green Ball at Upalco Tuesday night were Mr. and Mrs. Ben-nie Ben-nie Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Glade Timothy, Mr. and Mrs. Ty Kolb, Sharel and Bonnie Ames, Sharen Bird, Ola Max-field, Max-field, Jerry Carroll, Cliff Clark, Jack Carroll, Lowell Leavitt, Charley and Rex Allred. Mrs. George Berrett. Sr., of Murray, and Jim Timothy, of Salt Lake left Tuesday for their homes, after visiting relatives rela-tives here for a week. Mr. and Mrs. George Berrett, Jr., took them to Roosevelt to catch the bus. Grant Mohlman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mohlman, was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital on March 4. to be treated for a severe attack of flu. A Democratic mass meeting was held at the Fowler home Wednesday night, March 5. Louis Reese, manager of the R.E.A., wag transacting business during the week. Boys Won Contest The Primary boys and girls had a contest during the birthday birth-day penny drive. The boys won, so they are to have a party. $34.77 was gathered for the Primary Hospital in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. J. Arthur Timothy Timo-thy attended the wedding dance for Mr. and Mrs. Orland Murray Mur-ray in Bluebell Saturday night. Mrs. Timothy and Mr. Murray are sister and brother. . A f e.v of the younger people also attended at-tended the dance. Lester Maxfield and Louis Reese, Republican delegates for District 8, attended a meeting in Duchesne Monday. Linford Maxfield accompanied them. Leon Carroll was best man at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Giles in Tabiona Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. George Berrett. Jr., and Mrs. George Berrstt spent Friday in Rangely visit- ing with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berrett. Ber-rett. Saturday they all returned to Altonah, where Mr. and Mrs. Bob Berrett spent the weekend. Max Allred, of Boneta, and Harold Ralphs were business callers at the Gilbert Beeb-; ranch Wednesday. F.N. Leon Carroll, of the U. S. Navy arrived home Wednesday Wednes-day for a 10-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll. Made Sergeant Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe have received word from their daughter and son-in-law, Sgt. and Mrs!" Carl J. Searle. that Carl had received a promotion from corporal to sergeant, effective ef-fective Feb. 14. He is in the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Moody Air Base in Georgia. Carl is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Jay Searle, of Ogden. former Vernal residents. Mrs. Searle, the former Barbara Bee-be, Bee-be, is residing with her husband hus-band at Valdosta, Georgia. |
