Dm-man. j.ne delightful affair was capably cap-ably directed by Mrs. Buxton, the home economics teacher, who spent long, weary hours in preparation tor it. A track meet was held in the afternoon for the male popula tion of H J H S. Shot put Packy Fenn, 1st: Larry Gilbert, 2nd; Ray Allen, 3rd; Larry Jensen, 4th; Ruloli Gilbert, 5th. A student body assembly was held the same day under the direction of the F H A girls. Jennett Smithson acted as mistress mis-tress of cedemonies. At the completion com-pletion of the program, nominations nomi-nations were made for student body offices for the year 1952 and 1953. As a fitting climax to a long-to-be-remembered day, the Girls' Day dance was held in the beautifully beau-tifully decorated RJHS gym nasium. A record crowd was in attendance, many of the former students from Roosevelt High School being present. A floor show was presented at intermission, with creative dances . under the direction 6f Mrs. Hancock and Mrs. Riggle. Ferris Timothy won the coveted honor of "Most Preferred Man." Preparations for . the long-awaited long-awaited 8th grade party are well underway. They plan to spend the day, Friday, May 9, sightseeing in Vernal and frol-icing frol-icing at Victory Park. Lunches will be prepared in the school lunch kitchen to take with them. Buses have been arranged for transportation. Faculty advisers who will accompany ac-company the group are Mr. Bird, Mr. Beardon and Mrs. Hancock. Preliminary student body elections were held Tuesday morning. The finalists are Buddy Bud-dy Hancock and Lloyd Duncan, for student body president; Robert Rob-ert Jensen, Kenneth Benson, boys' vice-p resident; Barcy Nickell, Kay Timothy, girls' vice president; Connie Stevens and Margaret Carlson, secretary and treasurer.
