Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Three Young Men Join Uncle Sam L.arry Larsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen, was leaving leav-ing this week to join the armed forces. Ar Jin Bellon and Frank Bingham will enter in the Feb. draft. Our best wishes to pur young men in the endeavor. Roosevelt at present. Miss Shanna Bellon did not return to school at the A.C. at Logan after the holidays. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Bellon. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Reyos made a business trip to Albuquerque, Albu-querque, New Mexico last Mr and Mrs. Kent Gneitting, of Lewiston, Idaho, spent several sev-eral days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger last week. Mrs. Hullinger accompanied accom-panied them to Idaho for a visit with relatives. Roy Adams, of Ft. Duchesne, and A. A. Call, of Vernal, were visitors at the Alterra school one day last week. . The Polio Drive in Ballard is under the supervision of Orlan Cook. ' . Mrs. Ina McQuarne, o Beaver Beav-er City is visiting with home folks in Ballard, ghe came to help care for Mrs. John A. Gardner Gard-ner She is also' visiting her brothers, Earl and Delmar Gardner. Mrs. Sanford Butcher is now employed in the kitchen at the Union High School. Squire Mangum was ill last week and was confined to the Roosevelt Hospital for several davs- , - Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Morrill have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Simper. Mrs. Keith Jackson, of Salem, Oregon, was here a short time, visiting with her grandmother, Mrs. John A. Gardner, and with her sister, Mrs. Jack Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey McCon-kie, McCon-kie, of . Salt Lake City, have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Betts. Gary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gardner, and Glenda, daughter of Delmar Gardner, are now enrolled at the Brigham Young University. They were at the A.C. the first part of the year. They spent the past weekend week-end with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. Dorall Bellon and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harrison and baby, of Salt Lake City, were last weekend week-end visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Bellon. i Max, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Snyder, of Altonah, stayed several days at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bingham, to be near medical care. Gardner, who has been ill for several weeks now, was taken to the Roosevelt Roose-velt Hospital on Saturday, to be near medical care. PRESENT PAGEANT The Genealogy members of the ward presented a pageant entitled "Could It Happen to Me''" to a good sized audience at Ballard. Sunday evening, Jan. 3- Marvin Kettle, Earl Winn, Leland Le-land Angus, Mrs. Vida Betts, Mrs. Erna Stolla and Mrs. Ellen j Bracken attended the stake Sunday Sun-day School convention at Roosevelt Roose-velt on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hewitt and family have moved from Ballard to California, to make their home. Kenneth Betts returned to his Army base at Ft. Warren, W.vo., after enjoying the holidays with home folks. Mr and Mrs. Leslie Collins and daughter, of Salt Lake City, enjoyed the New Year's holidays holi-days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Betts. Ensign Clark, of Salt Lake City, is employed with Vaughn Simper at present. Sunday was "Bring a Friend Sunday." Several new faces were at Sunday School. Mrs Ella Bryant was on the sick list last week at her home in Independence. FACULTY MEETING Sunday School Faculty meeting meet-ing was held at the chapel last Wednesday evening with eight members of the officers and teachers in attendance. Various problems were discussed and Mrs. Ellen Bracken presented the lesson. |
