Show $180,320 Budget Approved For Duchesne County In 1954 The $180,320 budget recently" approved by the Duchesne County Board of Commissioners for 1954 is $38,743 less than the one approved a year ago for 1953. which was for $219,063. Approval of the budget followed public hearings. The total amount shown in the budget for county general fund is $68,270, or $9518 less than the $77,788 general budget figure for 1953. The 1954 budget bud-get amount includes a $5500 figure for general election. No amount was included for election elec-tion in the 1953 budget totals. According to' County Clerk Porter L. Merrell, the budget figures for the year are as follows: fol-lows: Clerk, $6000; treasurer, $6000; recorder, $8500; assessor, $6000; sheriff, $8000; attorney, $2000; commissioners, $4500; district court, $500; justice court, $2500; criminal expense, $2000; juvenile juve-nile court expense, $100; courthouse court-house and grounds, $2500; general gen-eral election. $5500; fuel, light and telephone, $2500; printing, etc., $1200; juror and witness fees, $2000; insurance and bonds, $2000; dues and conventions, conven-tions, $500; fire control, 500; inspection, $600; miscellaneous, $3000; public health, $1200; audit, aud-it, $500; bee inspector, $170 and total, general fund, $68,270. County roads. $74,350 (including (includ-ing class B funds); poor, $6500; noxious weed eradication, $8200; advertising and exhibits, $1400; agricultural agent and home demonstration agent. $4300; bonds, interest and sinking sink-ing fund; Colorado River and Great Basin Development, $500; total all funds for 1954 budget, $180,320. No amount was budgeted for the airport or courthouse this year. The courthouse fund last year was for $4100, and the airport air-port fund was $1000. Largest slashes in the budget figures were in the poor fund, which was cut from $10,000 to $6500; from the county road fund, $90,000 to $74,460, and from the noxious weed eradication eradica-tion fund, cut from $10,000 to $8200.
