Show Roosevelt Oity In Second Keek 3f Polio Drive Roosevelt has now entered into' its second week of an intense in-tense campaign to raise its quota quo-ta of $2500.00 fop the March of Dimes, .reports Mrs. Donald Laris. Placing of coin collectors and posters and soliciting of business establishments have been completed. Dime cards were also placed in the schools this week. Every civic club has been contacted con-tacted in the city to carry out one fund raising program. The annual Mothers March will be held Jan. 29th between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. when every home in the city will be contacted for last minute donations. dona-tions. Inasmuch as the Mother is the person who has the biggest responsibility towards taking care of a Polio' Child, it has been decided that we will again honor an outstanding Mother in j the community by naming her 1 Polio Mother for 1954. All civic clubs have been contacted to nominate an outstanding Mother of the community. The winner ( will be determined by one vote from each contributing family on the night 'of the Mothers' March. The winner will be presented pre-sented with a dozen red roses. Roosevelt city workers are: Mrs. Donald Laris, city chairman; chair-man; Socialette Club, Theatres and placing of coin collectors and posters in business houses, Deanne Jennings, chairman;; Mrs. Louis Taylor, chairman for Mothers' March; Mrs. Stan Schmiett, chairman for contact-1 ing civic clubs; Mrs. O. R. j Curry, Mrs. Sam Weiss, Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mrs. Merrill Wil- kins, Mrs. Lee Allred, soliciting of business houses. |
