Show Oids Asked For Building New Blue Bench Highway Bids are being asked for construction con-struction of the long-awaited link of the "farm-to-market" road over Blue Bench, north from Duchesne. The Utah State Road Commission Com-mission published its "Notice to Contractors" for this construction con-struction project on April 24. Bids are to be opened May 11, and construction work is expected expect-ed to get underway the latter-part latter-part of May. The construction work will be for a length of 8.059 miles, being be-ing a section of State Road 35. The contract calls for construction construc-tion of a 2V2" road mixed bi-tuminus bi-tuminus surfaced road. The new road survey continues contin-ues northerly from Bridge St. in Duchesne over the "bench" with a gradual climb. This will cut off the crumbling Blue Bench dugway, which is a hazard haz-ard on this state road 35. It will connect with the old Route 35 near the airport. Principal items of work are approximately 267,900 gals, of bituminous material; 97,000 tons of gravel, and 120,000 cu. yds. of unclassified roadway excavation. exca-vation.
