Show s$(tonali Mrs. Ethel Beebe Mrs. Lola Jones Hostess To DUP The DUP held their regular monthly meeting, Wednesday afternoon, April 21st at the home of Mrs. Lola Jones. The lesson, "Pioneer Memorial Building," was given by Mrs. Alora Kolb. Members present were: Mrs. Helen Palm, Mrs. Violet Smith, Mrs. Mary Riley, Mrs. Bertha Ralphs, Mrs. Mary Dump, Mrs. Francis AUred, Mrs. Ilez Ames, Mrs. Alora Kolb'. Mrs. Ada Ames, Mrs. Vel-da Vel-da Burgess and Mrs. Ruth Das-trup. Das-trup. Visitors were Mrs. Lucille Laurine and Mrs. Barbara Nielsen. Niel-sen. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. James Weeks and family, of Garfield, spent the Easter weekend with Mr. Week's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weeks. Sunday they went to Ouray to attend the Bear Dance. Mrs. Mary Swasey, of Boneta, is staying with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll. Mrs. Swasey has been ill for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Searle, of Ogden, spent Easter weekend with Mrs. Searle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe. Other guests at the Beebe home were Mr. and Mrs. Von Cloward and family and Max Searle, of Ogden. Og-den. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Bowden and family, of Bonanza, spent the weekend with Mr. Bowden's mother, Mrs. Mary Bowden, and brother's, Louie and Clinton and family. Bill Clark and Alta Jones, of Salt Lake City, were Easter i guests of Bill's parents, Mr. and I Mrs. Albert Clark.. I Mr. and Mrs. George Fisher, I Jr. and family, Mrs. Minnie Maxfield, Mr. and Mrs. Dennie Ralphs and daughter, Peggy, spent Easter at the Merkley Park in Vernal. Carma Atwood, of Bluebell acocmpanied them. Mr. and Mrs. Delos Bird and son, of Salt Lake City, spent a few days during the week with Mrs. Bird's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Linford Maxfield. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones and Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. E. Clark and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunsmore spent Easter Sunday at Merkley Park in Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunsmore made a business trip to Salt Lake City, Monday, April 19. Mrs. Clarence Jones accompanied accompan-ied them as far as Park City and visited with Mr. Jones' mother. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Burgess spent Saturday, Sunday and Monday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Olsen in Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Burgess in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe transacted business and visited in Vernal Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Allen, of the Moon Lake Electric hydro electric plant on Yellowstone, made a trip to Salt Lake, Monday, Mon-day, where Mrs. Allen received a medical check-up. They returned re-turned home Wednesday. Martin Hislop, of Altamont, took care of the plant during their absence. ab-sence. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Reese made a business trip to Salt Lake City Tuesday, returning home Thursday. Lyle Cole, of Sunnyside, visited vis-ited Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen a few days during the week. A number of Altonah people attended the farewell party in Bluebell Saturday night, April 24th for Udell Winkler, who left April 28th on a 2-years mission in Hawaii. Louie Galloway, of Roosevelt, was in town on business, Tuesday. Tues-day. Reva and Ted Clark accompanied accom-panied their uncle, Gilbert Chat- win, of Tabiona, to Salt Lake City to spent the weekend. a large crowd of people from Altonah attended band day in Vernal, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Clark took their daughter, Judy, to Roosevelt, Saturday for medical medi-cal care. Judy ran a thorn in her leg and got infection in it. They were accompanied by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert' Thompson Thomp-son and family, of Heber, who were spending the weekend with them. |
