Show IVA M. MONKS MYTON (Special) Funeral services were conducted in the Myton ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints, Tuesday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Iva M. Monks, 59, who died last Thursday at 8 p.m. of a heart ailment at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Liddell, of South Myton Bench. Bishop Clark Roberts conducted the services. A daughter of Lars J. and Elvira Powell Marsing, she was born at Deseret Lake. Utah, Aug. 15, 1894. The family moved mov-ed to Mt. Emmons in her early childhood and it was there she received her early education. She later moved to Duchesne, where she attended school. She was married to' Frank T. Monks, Oct. 31, 1921 at Mt. Emmons, where they lived several sev-eral years, later moving to Roosevelt where Mr. Monks engaged en-gaged in farming. In 1938 they purchased a farm on South Myton My-ton Bench, where they resided until her death. Speakers at the funeral were A. Hale Holgate, president of Duchesne stake; Mrs. Rae Ash-ton, Ash-ton, Vernal, and Wm. K. Dye, former Neola bishop. Music was supplied by a male quartet composed com-posed of Melvin Petersen, E. Dwain Buchanan, Garth Tietjen and Allen Gines; vocal solos, by Porter Merrell and Allen Gines, and a vocal duet, by Mr. Merrell and Mrs. Arzy Mitchell. The invocation was offered by E. L. Murphy; the benediction by Gareth Anderson and the grave was dedicated by Wilmer Murray. Survivors include her hus-hand, hus-hand, one daughter, Mrs. Mar guerite Liddell; two sons, Ted and Calvin, and 4 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, all of Myton; three sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Hartman, of Mt. Emmons; Mrs. Chloe Case, of Duchesne, and Mrs. Ila Wells, of Salt Lake City; one brother, Bert L. Marsing, of Roosevelt. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Wm. R. Sands Unit No. 5, of Myton. EDITH H. EGGLESTON Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Salt Lake City for Mrs. Edith Howard Eggleston, 61, who' died at her residence in Salt Lake Monday at 5:40 a.m. of cancer. The mother of Mrs. Robert A. (Alice) Ferron of Roosevelt, she was born June 12, 1892, at Oakley, Lucas County, Iowa, a daughter of Martin Luther and Mary Ellen D i 1 1 m a n Howard. She was married to E. Earl Eggleston, Feb. 28, 1912, and was a member of the Wasatch Was-atch Presbyterian church. In addition to her daughter and husband, she is survived by three sons, Howard R., Heb-er Heb-er City; Walter O., Phoenix, Ariz.; Paul, Sandy; 10 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; two brothers, C. T. Howard, How-ard, Kansas City; L. E. Howard, Des Moines, la.; two' sisters, L. Pearl Howard, Nelle R. Howard Salt Lake City. MRS" LENA BELL McDOWELL Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Bell McDowell, 56, who died April 22 in the Park Rest Home in Meeker, Colo., of a lingering illness, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25th in the First Baptist church of Vernal, with Rev. E. W. Hunke, jr. unicici Ling, jduiicii wcia in mc Vernal Cemetery, under the direction di-rection of the Dillman Mortuary. Mortu-ary. Mrs. McDowell was born in Jackson County, Missouri. Oct. 2, 1873, and was a member of the Christian Church and the Rebecca Lodge. The survivors are, son and daughters, Roy D. Mills, Vernal; Mrs. Arthur Myra Loyd Range-ly, Range-ly, Colo.; Mrs. Ruth Crary, Prairie View, 111.; Mrs. Milburn Lois Babcock, Midpines, Calif.,; and Mrs. Luey Jennie Haddock, Roosevelt; also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: sis-ters: Thomas IMills, Wichita. Kan.; James Mills, Cherokee. Okla.; Stella Huff, Savonburg, Kan.; Mable Riggs, Eric, Okla., and Daisy, Wichita, Kan. |
