Show liber Yergensen CSiosen Democratic Forty Clifef Elmer Yergensen, Myton h dairy farmer, and active civic and Farmers Union leader, was elected last Saturday by Duchesne Du-chesne County Democrats to succeed Bennie Schmiett as the party chairman for the next two years. Selected as vice-chairwoman vice-chairwoman was Mrs. Oscar (Josephine) Beebe, Duchesne. Eight delegates to the state convention were also elected. Mr. Yergensen won the chairmanship chair-manship in a two-way contest between himself and John P. Madsen, veteran Duchesne Democratic Dem-ocratic leader, who has served as chairman of the county central cen-tral commitie previously, .and is a past state legislator. It will be the first venture into political actiivties for the new chairman and Mrs. Beebe, vice-chairwoman, vice-chairwoman, who replaces Mrs. Sarah White, of Tabiona, as feminine spoke in the county political wheel. The secretary will be appointed by the new officers. The convention was keynoted by George Ballif, Provo attorney, attor-ney, who was accompanied by his wife, Algie, who is also a veteran party worker. The retiring re-tiring chairman, Mr. Schmiett, presided over the convention, which was held at the Duchesne High School. Mrs. Dwain Buchanan, Bu-chanan, Roosevelt, sang two numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Schmiett, who retires as secretary-treasurer of the county committee. Delegates to the May 29 convention con-vention in Salt Lake will be Mr. Yergensen, Mrs. Beebe, James Hall, Mr. Madsen, Edwin Carman, Mr. Schmiett and Mrs. White. Alternates are Levi An-derton, An-derton, Clem Labrum and William Wil-liam Ostler.
