Our Field Trip Homer Pitt Mr. Young's Fifth Grade Mr. Young's fifth grade visited vis-ited the Roosevelt Standard on Friday, Sept. 21. We saw the press and the Linotype machine. Mr. Memmott told us that the first thing to do in a newspaper was to be sure to gt the facts to put in it. He told us how they printed the Roosevelt Standard and the Uintah Basin Record. These things will help us in publishing our school newspaper, the Roosevelt School Notice. Mr. Memmott . gave us some pieces of metal that are used in printing newspapers for us to' keep and look at. We had a nice time and learned many helpful and interesting in-teresting things. We thank Mr. Memmott for being so kind to us and for letting us see how a newspaper is printed. |
