Show This Week's RECIPE... Mrs. Sam Weiss has submitted the following mustard pickle recipe to the Standard this week. She states that it makes a large amount of pickles and may be made in half portions. Chopped Mustard Pickles 2 qts. green tomatoes 2 qts. medium - sized cucum- I bers, peeled , 2 qts. onions 1 large head cauliflower (cook 10 minutes before dicing) 2 large bunches celery 6 red peppers 6 green peppers Dice above ingredients and make following dressing: 1 1 V4 cups flour I 6 tbs. mustard 4V2 cups sugar Vz cup salt 1 34 tbs. curry powder 1 tbs. tumeric IV2 qts. white vinegar ' lVa qts. water Add V2 liquid to dry ingredients, ingred-ients, then add altogether and cook unitl mixture thickens, or about 15 minutes, j Bottle while hot and seal. |
