Of interest to their many relatives rel-atives and friends is the announcement an-nouncement of the marriage of Miss Donna Rose Kimball, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kimball, of Gusher, and Sherman Sher-man Neil Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson, of Bluebell. 10 Years Ago Mrs. Ruth Jensen, of Neola, was elected captain of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers camps in Duchesne county at the annual encampment held here Friday. She succeeds Mrs. Mae R. Lambert, of Altonah. Other county officers elected are Mrs. Virgie Murphy, of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, first vice president; Mrs. Rozelle Poulson, of Duchesne, second vice president; Mrs. Lillian Lil-lian Wilkerson, of Neola, secretary. secre-tary. A mile-long parade made up of Indians, floats, bands, officials of local city governments and Indian department heads will open the Indian Day celebration to' be held in Roosevelt tomorrow. tomor-row. Two members of the Toyack chapter of Future Farmers won blue ribbons for exhibits in the F.F.A. division at the Utah State Fair on Saturday. They were Ted Phillips, whose big field squash won first place, and Vaughn Peterson, whose display of honey was awarded a blue ribbon. Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, of Myton, returned Monday evening eve-ning from Milwaukie, Minn., where they had gone to attend the national convention of the American Legion. Mr. Dalgleish is commander of District No. 5 of the Utah department and was a delegate to the convention. 20 Years Ago The James Gurr home, one of the finest in Ioka, burned to the ground Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Gurr's home was an eight room, story and a half, frame structure and was an outstanding outstand-ing landmark in Ioka. At the Cash Meat Market some of the specials included; macaroni, 3 pkgs., 17c; coffee, 1 lb. 19c; Blue Ribbon bread, 5c; soda crackers, 3 lb. box, 33c. Of the total of 38 games played by the Myton baseball team, they won no less than 26. This was their first season and this is an excellent record. |
