Show Program Begun By Relief Society The opening social of the Relief Re-lief Society was held Tuesday afternoon in the Relief Society room. The following program was given: Reading, Mrs. Seth Asay; story, Mrs. Lila Bingham; games, Mrs. Ardis Kettle; questions ques-tions on the Bible, Mrs. Verda Rasmussen; game, led by Mrs. Beatrice Lundberg. There were 28 ladies present. Ice cream and cake was served. Clyde McCurdy, of Vernal, was a visitor last Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jenkins. Mr. McCurdy is in military mil-itary service and expects to go overseas very soon. Mr. and Mrs. John Gardner visited Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Long, in Bennett. Mrs. Ralph McMullin, their son, Darrel, and twin daughters, Sharon and Karen, made a trip to Salt Lake City, Friday. Mrs. Darlene Peck and her brother from Idaho have been recent visitors in Ballard. Mrs.-Peck Mrs.-Peck lived here several years ago and was here to look after her property interests. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Kettle spent the week end in Salt Lake City on a pleasure trip. Miss Garvene Barbe. of Salt Lake City, is the guest of Miss Myrtle Collins at the home of her parents, Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins. Mr. and Mrs. Mavis Crouch, of Richfield, were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alden White. Mrs. Crouch was the former Phyllis White. They were enroute to Logan, where Mr. Crouch was to enroll at U.S.A.C. Mrs. Glen Broderick and small daughter, of Salt Lake City, Mark Rasmussen, who is working in Provo, and Miss Claudia Crane, of Salt Lake City, were overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Far-rell Far-rell Rasmussen, Saturday. Mrs. Eric Stolla, Jr., is at Clearfield, where she is receiving receiv-ing medical care. Mrs. Erna Stolla is caring for her two small children during her absence. ab-sence. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston entertained en-tertained at dinner Tuesday for Rev. and Mrs. Wm. G. Trow, of Roosevelt, and their two children. chil-dren. . Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Anderson, of Springville, were recent visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alden White. Mr. Anderson Ander-son is Mrs. White's father. Fred Cook was sustained as second assistant in the Ballard Sunday School, to replace Bryce White, who is away at school. Ballard young people are very well represented at the various var-ious colleges this year. Howard Todd, Carol and Shanna Bellon are at the U.S.A.C, Bryce White, Glen Womack, Lynn Bracken, and Lorraine and Dianne Hul-linger, Hul-linger, are attending the B.Y.U., Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hoosier and family, of Salt Lake City, visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson. John-son. Leland Angus was a visitor at services in Ioka ward Sunday, and Russel Robinson, of Ioka, visited the Ballard ward. .Wm. Jenkins went to Salt Lake City Tuesday for a medical med-ical check-up. He recently submitted sub-mitted to an operation. ,Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Swisher accompanied by their daughters, Joanne and Arlene, were in Denver for several days last week. Donna and Phyllis Swisher Swish-er stayed with Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Coston during their absence. ab-sence. Mrs. Olen Perryman substituted substitut-ed as a teacher at the Alterra school several days last week. Word has been received that Karl Bracken has enrolled as a junior student at University of Utah. Karl is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bracken and is living- in Salt Lake City with his wife and "small son. He is employed at the Greyhound bus depot. Mrs. Jesse Hullinger and daughter, Barbara, took her two daughters. Lorraine and Dianne, to Provo one day last week to enroll at the B.Y.U. for the coming year. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Brim-hall. Brim-hall. Tex Ross took his daughter, Carolyn, to Salt Lake City one day last week to keep an appointment ap-pointment with the specialists. She has been under theatment for a number of years. |
