Show Randlett Viola Jensen Indian Women Work At Stake Canning Center The Randlett Indian Relief Society So-ciety members fent to Roosevelt Monday and canned 248 cans of corn at the Stake Canning Center. The following ladies participated partici-pated in the activity: Lucy Ash-ta, Ash-ta, Esther Pennicose, Margaret Arrine, Blanche Myore, Margar-ette Margar-ette Peaves, Bohemia Kanapath, Ivy Chandler and Mrs. Hazel Brough. Mrs. Brough said President Presi-dent James Bacon was a great help to them. Vaughn Simper, of Ballard, is threshing seed for the people of the bench. Vernal visitors Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Wall, Jr.. Mrs. Bernice LaFrance and J. P. Stevens Mrs. J. J. LaFrance has returned re-turned to her home in San Francisco, Calif., after spending two weeks visiting her father, J. P. Stevens. Edgar Jensen was injured Thursday morning when he ran a pick into his foot while working work-ing in a gilsonite mine. He was treated at the Uintah county hospital hos-pital for a few days and released releas-ed to his home Saturday. The Randlett Primary officers and teachers who attended Union Un-ion meeting at Roosevelt Saturday Sat-urday were Mrs. Merle Moore, Mrs. Alice Wall, Mrs. Leah Mae Chandler, Mrs. Donna Pickup, and Mrs. Viola Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wall and family and Mrs. George Brough and family were Roosevelt visitors vis-itors Saturday. Mrs. Mary Despain, of Vernal, visited Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore. Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Despain are sisters. Mrs. Ora Coston, of Alterra, visited Sunday with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Jessie Pickup. Raymond Anderson and Mrs. Zilpha Wall received word of the death of their mother, Thursday Thurs-day evening. The Avalon school held a fair Friday, with many fine exhibits. A program was enjoyed by each room; and light refreshments were served. Miss Beatrice Stringham visited vis-ited at the Avalon school Thursday. Thurs-day. The Randlett Singing Mothers met at the chapel this week and practiced songs for the Relief Society conference. Visitors at Sunday School and Sacrament meeting Sunday were Bert Stoddard and daughters, I Carolyn and Shirley, of Leota, 'and Gilbert McKenna, of Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. Mrs. Roy McKee spent the week end visiting her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McKee, of Vernal. Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, of Bal-' Bal-' lard, soent the week end visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie McMullin. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen visited Sunday evening with their daughter, Marian, who is working in Roosevelt. I Mr. and Mrs. Van Jensen and ' Mrs. Betty Jensen and family ! visited Friday evening at the I home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen. i |
