Show Future Farmers Tom Rowley. Reporter It amazes me to witness the ability of two different schools to work so splendidly together. One would think that having a new instructor and a chapter made up of fellows who didn't know each other before would hinder progress. However, that is not so here at Union High. Last week we combined efforts of the instructor and the fellows and had one of the most successful suc-cessful dances ever sponsored by any local group. All in all, we netted $105.00. As a feature of the dance, we gave away a 30-30 rifle. It was won by Davis Rasmussen, a sophomore at Union. I would like to thank all the citizens of ; Roosevelt who helped make this 'event a success by purchasing tickets This Saturday, Mr. Cummings and his wife, Dallas Murray, Dale Harrison, Doyle Huber and myself will set out or Kansas City. Dale, Dallas and Doyle i will represent the Roosevelt 1 chapter in the National Live-! Live-! stock Judging contest, which i will be held in connection with the American Royal Junior Live-i Live-i stock Show. Also, while on the trip, we I will attend the national conven-) conven-) tion of the Future Farmers of j America, at which I will serve I as a chapter delegate. The trip J will be the first of its kind for j us fellows, and we assure you ) that it will prove very educational educa-tional as well as recreational to us. Again I want to thank all you good people for making it possible to send us back to Kansas Kan-sas City and we know that tha j judging team will do its best S to give Roosevelt chapter and i Union High school a good name j in Kansas City. |
