BAPTIST NEWS FOR AUGUST Mrs. Robert Johnson entertained enter-tained at her home recently for her Sunday school class. Watermelon Water-melon and pop corn balls added to the fun for Boyd and Joan Creech, Patty Ann and Betty Jo Whitmore, Bennie Gleaton and Dorthy Jean Dillman. The young people of the Baptist Bap-tist Sunday school held a class meeting at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Harold Dillman. Those present were Joe and Juanita Gleaton, Richard Roberts Rob-erts and La Wanna Dillman. Visitors were Marvin Penfield, Darlene and Delores Brown. All enjoyed playing croquet and eating ice cream and cookies. Roosevelt Ward Sunday Services The following program was carried out Sunday evening at the Roosevelt Ward Sacrament meeting at which Bishop Horace Ritchie presided: community singing led by John E, Wiscombe assisted by Mrs. Carlyle Reynolds Reyn-olds at the piano; invocation by Golden Collins; very interesting and inspirational talks by Alex Sullivan and Elmer Manwaring; benediction by Grant Fredrick-son, Fredrick-son, MIA Convention The Roosevelt Stake MIA met Monday evening to plan the program for convention which will be held September 8 at the Roosevelt chapel. Those present were Paul Nelson, superintendent superintend-ent of the Y M M I A with his counselors, Curtis Walton and Eathan Nielsen, Hollis Hullin-gcr; Hullin-gcr; Mrs Blanche Murphy, president pres-ident of the Y L M I A, her counselors, Eulalia Randolph, Bernice Nelson. Afton Morrison and the following board members, mem-bers, Norma Broadbcnt, Mattie Edwards, Virgie Murphy, Barbara Bar-bara Angus, Elaine Hullinger, I Fawn Leavitt, Luella Olsen. Plans for the work for the en-1 suing year were discussed and suggestions made to further the I M I A in this stake this year. Sunday school continues at 10 a. m. and each Tuesday at 8:30 p. m. at the Epicopal church. Discussions on "The Baptist Faith and Message" are open to the public. |
