Show Rangely Field Makes Plans For Bringing in Oil Well Deep Test Well Penetrates 500 Foot Strata of Oil-Bearing Sand According to reports reaching here this week from Rrangely, the Wasatch-McLaughlin No. 1 deep test well has penetrated an oil-bearing sand in the Weber formation, estimated at 500 feet in depth. The formation is reported re-ported to be a tight sand and is not expected to yield a big daily volume of oil, but it will- be a long-producing well. It is believed be-lieved by oil-well . experts that the flow will be in the neighborhood neighbor-hood of 1000 barrels per day. The oil sand was reached at a depth of 5550 feet. Seven inch casing is being set on top of the Weber sand and drilline is "be ing resumed. The well will be flushed out with the use of tubing tub-ing and production is expected to come in at any time. Lines are being laid, separators and storage stor-age tanks installed, preparatory to taking care of the producer. The Newton deep test well is reported at a depth of 3396, and the California well at 5870. Plans are being made by the California Cal-ifornia company to drill two additional ad-ditional wells and the Husky Refining Re-fining company is preparing to also drill to the deep depth.
