Roosevelt City council Monday evening, the question of whether or not Roosevelt should continue on with the Indian Day celebration, was definitely de- ' cided, when a motion was placed before the council for them to take over the responsibility of organizing a general committee and declare it an annual affair. The motion was unanimously passed and Mayor Harrison set Monday evening, September 4th as a meeting night for the purpose pur-pose of selecting the general committee for this year's celebration. cele-bration. All civic clubs, church organizations, Indian department depart-ment and Indian Tribal . committee com-mittee representatives have been given a special invitation to attend at-tend this meeting. A request by the hospital board presented to the council by William H. Ruppel a board member, that the side walk and parking space be given immediate immed-iate attention, was considered and the council decided to raise the sidewalk level according to engineers specifications and to construct curb and gutters to eliminate the pooling of water on the corner and state street and 2 north street. The streets i and alleys committee was instructed in-structed to proceed at once with the improvement. New Processing Plant Leo Hansen met with the council and requested a water connection be established along the street running south from 2nd north to 1st north in order to secure water for the new processing pro-cessing plant to be established on the property recently purchased pur-chased East of the Wayne Malin residence. Pumping Tests Telephone communications with the engineers who are to make a deep well pumping test of two wells owned by Roosevelt Roose-velt city, informed the citv officials of-ficials that these tests would be made within the next ten days. If the tests prove satisfactory the city will purchase pumping equipment which when in operation, op-eration, would give our citizens ample pure well water at all times, and the city could then boost of the purest water in the state. |
