Show Back to School (By Avard A. Rigby) When Uintah Basin schools re-open on September 11, every boy and girl between the ages of 6 and 18 who have not completed com-pleted High school should re-return re-return to the classroom. This is the recommendation, of such men as War Manpower Chairman, Chair-man, Paul V. McNutt; General H. H. Arnold, of the U S Army Air Forces; and Vice Admiral Randall Jacobs, Chief of Naval Personnel. These men realize, as we must, that every American boy and girl needs the best education educa-tion and training the Nation can provide. Both for the children themselves and for the future of our country, more high school training than ever is needed. Education is the key to the future fu-ture of America. We know the value of training and study. We know how much modern wars depend on Scientific Scien-tific knowledge. We know how much a lasting peace will depend de-pend on intelligent sound bodies 'and sound minds of its citizens. As a nation, we believe that our children should be wiser, abler, and more successful people than i we are, and we know our schools can help them to become so. Men in the services know how valuable schooling is; even at the end of a hard day's work many of them go to school. The army has organized a special institute in-stitute to provide them with study courses. If a fighter has need for study, it follows that we on the home front need it too. That job you are" holding down now is big. But how will it look five years from now? If you have a feeling you'll like a bigger one in 1950, don't trust to luck that it will come your way. Enroll now in school for as many courses as you can carry. car-ry. That's where you get education educa-tion for bigger and belter jobs. |
