The Board of Education at its last meeting approved the appointment appoint-ment of Bert Burgess as Duchesne Du-chesne county school building and grounds supervisor and indicated in-dicated that he will devote the major portion of his time to Roosevelt high while the pro gram of renovation is being carried car-ried out. With but six weeks remaining before the 1946-47 school year opens crews of workmen are now engaged at the high school remodeling and redecorating the interior. It is unlikely that anything any-thing more than the immediate demands of the old building can be met before classes are called. But the schedule of work outlined outlin-ed for the complete remodeling and enlarging of the building will be carried out during the fall and throughout the winter. New Construction Listed According to the outline submitted sub-mitted by Mr. Bond, the following follow-ing plans will be developed with respect to the Roosevelt high school building: Remodeling and painting of the interior; construction of additional ad-ditional classrooms; a new cafeteria, cafe-teria, 25 x 42 feet with adequate adjoining storage space; new shower and rest rooms for boys on the west side of the building; the installation of a heating sys-l tern capable of heating the pres-1 ent building, its new additions and the Toyack chapter house and the construction of a new gymnasium large enough to meet the needs of the area served by Roosevelt high. "We will be ready to go on actual construction con-struction wo,rk the moment the architects release the plans," declared de-clared Mr. Bond. Assurance has been given by both the Board of Education and Superintendent Bond that the revamping re-vamping program designed for the Roosevelt high school will in no way interfere with the proposed pro-posed Union high school. Work on the old building has been scheduled to meet immediate student needs with the thoughl of converting it into a junior high school when the Union high school becomes a reality. As work on the Roosevelt high school progresses fire hazard; will be eliminated and the building build-ing made generally sound.
