Show Committee Calls Uintah Basin Reunion August 11 V. T. Rice, Bountiful, publicity publi-city chairman for the Uintah Basin reunion has sent word that the annual get-together will be held on Sunday, August 11 at Liberty Park. For eleven years the Uintah Basin reunion has been an annual affair for former form-er Basinites who now reside in the Salt Lake area. The reunion committee through Mr. Rice has extended an invitation to Uintah Basin folks who will be in Salt Lake over the weekend, urging them to come to Liberty Park on Sunday for the event. A basket lunch at 12 noon, followed by a program at 2 p. m., are planned for this year's reunion. The Uintah Basin reunion was first held in 1936 with Mrs. Alice Swain, C. E. Pearce, Lillian Whitlock Searle, Merrill Ben-nion Ben-nion and Gertrude Collett Thomas as instigators. For the first two years C. E. Pearce served as the president. Now in its eleventh year the Basin reunion re-union has grown steadily in both popularity and size. G. V. Billings, a long time resident res-ident of the Uintah Basin, is the incumbent president; Randolph Jensen, formerly of Mytonand Duchesne, is the prograni chairman, chair-man, and Charles Colton, a former form-er Vernal resident, is chairman of the reception committee. "We are looking forward to seeing our old friends from the Uintah Basin and renewing acquaintances," ac-quaintances," writes Mr. Rice. "This year we are going to have the best reunion ever." |
