Show A Proclamation Whereas the President of the United States has officially proclaimed pro-claimed August 14 as Victory Day in observance of the fail of the Japanese Empire, and Whereas it is just and fitting that such observance be made to commemorate the end of the bloodiest conflict in the history of the world and to pay tribute to those Americans who gave their lives in World War II, Be it known that I, George H. Harrison. Mayor in and for the City of Roosevelt do hereby declare de-clare that on August 14 between the hours of 1:00 p. m. and 3:00 p. m. a city wide holiday shall prevail. Take cognizance that said holiday hol-iday is being declared in order that the citizens of Roosevelt might participate in the fitting and solemn program of observance obser-vance to be conducted by the American Legion which shall start at 1:30 p. m. and continue to the official closing of said holiday.
