Show Important WX High Meeting Tonight There will be an important meeting for students, future students and parents tonight. Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Woods Cross auditorium. We will be ' discussing and voting on sche- dules that will be implemented in the near future to accommodate accommo-date new graduation requirements. require-ments. j-i ALTHOUGH some schools have adopted an eight-period 5 block, we have reservations i about this system because of ? loss of time on task and the f length of each class period -- 85-90 minutes. J Our proposal is a trimester :S system that offers the flexibil- it y for students to choose elec- 5 lives as well as supplementing a strong academic program. S We invite your support as well as your criticism. We will re- ? spond to your wishes. IN COMPARING the eight- i; period schedule with the Z trimester schedule, the faculty S at Woods Cross determined to 5 support the trimester. Many factors were consodered. bin 1 three seemed most important. 2 Light period day. meets evil ev-il erv oilier day (4 classes per g day I. 85 minute classes (too longl. 130 classroom hours per credit. t TRIMESTER, meets every ? day. ""0 minute class period. r. . 140 .'lassroom hours per cre!ii. - Although the faculty voted f more hours of work for them-? them-? selves, it seemed the only j; choice to make when evaluat-l evaluat-l ing student needs. |
