BARNES has served in many positions on a state and local level, including city councilman, secretary of. the Kaysville Chamber of Commerce. Com-merce. Commander of the local loc-al American Legion Post, president pres-ident of the Wildlife Federation, Federa-tion, and Utah Wildlife Federation, Feder-ation, a member of the Utah Fish and Game Commission and the Utah State Board of Health. He was chairman of the first planning board in Davis County Coun-ty during World War 11. and served as medical consultant of the Utah High .School Activities Acti-vities Association for 27 years. Keith Barnes will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house. Feb. 25 from 3-6 p.m. at Oakridue Country Club. 1492 W. Shepard Lane. Farmington. They invite friends, associates and relatives rela-tives to celebrate with them. DR. AND Mrs. Barnes were married Feb. 20. 1934 in Ogden. Dr. Barnes, upon completion comple-tion of Medical School from the University of Maryland, and internship at the post graduate gra-duate hospital at the University Universi-ty of Pennsylvania, returned to his hometown of Kaysville to set up his medical practice. HE TRAVELED the entire Davis County area making house calls, and has been a familiar figure to many many families. He gave up his private pri-vate practice to enter public health work as the director of Davis County Public Health, a position he held for 30 years retiring in 1962. Ida May "Dotty" Dotson Barnes is a graduate of The Dee Memorial Hospital Nurses Training program and attended the University Hospitals Hos-pitals in Cleveland. Ohio specializing spe-cializing in anesthesia. She and Dr. Barnes became acquainted through their work at the Dee Hospital, and after their marriage mar-riage she accompanied Dr. Barnes on his house calls, assisting him in his practice. DR. AND Mrs. Barnes have been very active in community affairs and avid supporters of Davis High School and especially espe-cially the athletic program. They have been outdoor enthusiasts, en-thusiasts, enjoying many backpacking trips into the mountains, and still enjoy gardening gar-dening and maintaining their yard and rose garden.
