It is a sun-induced condition of the skin whose symptoms , include red, scaly patches, most often on the hands and face. Most susceptible to this condition are people who live in climates with intense year-round sunshine. These include farmers, fishermen and others who spend many hours out of doors. It is encouraging to note that doctors have a prescription prescrip-tion cream or solution from Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. that is often prescribed with good results for people who have solar keratosis. Years of long exposure to the sun can produce this condition, which, if untreated, un-treated, may sometimes lead to skin cancer, the most common form of cancer among people.
