According- to the Mayor, reports on the licensing- practices of the various Utah County cities, revealed reveal-ed a great variance in uniformity. One city in particular assessed retail re-tail merchants one-half of one per cent on gross sales. Pleasant Grove's rate is only one-tenth of one per cent. There were other instances in-stances of variation as great, as this, the Mayor said. At the recent meeting- of Utah County Mayors and County Commissioners, Com-missioners, a resolution was passed asking- the Juvenile Court to be more severe in the punishment of juvenile offenders. It was the opinion opin-ion of those present that the Juvenile Ju-venile Court is fast becoming a joke as far as the youth of Utah County are concerned. An instance was cited where a boy was brought before the court on his third serious ser-ious traffic violation. The judge suspended his driver's license for six days. A group of Sixth Grade students from Grovecrest visited the coun-- coun-- cil meeting- and asked questions regarding the duties of the Mayor and other city officials.
