Show 25 YEARS AGO In the Review From the Kilos of ihp RkvUjw Saturday, October t, 1930 Last Saturday John R. Halliday and Bishop S. L. Swenson decided to act like boys again and enjoy a horseback ride. Each mounted his trusty steed and headed for the mruth of Grove Creek. Before the elderly buckaroos had gone fifty yards the Bishop's horse started to buck. The Bishop "pulled leather" and stuck it out until the pony decided to call it quits. Then they proceeded proceed-ed up the canyon, over Little Mountain and down Battle Creek. Aside from a few stiff muscles and crick in the back Swen L. was not hurt. He was was back in the Bank Monday morning. The faculty members of the P. G. H. S. and! their partners en-poyed en-poyed a wild duck dinner Thursday evening. The ducks were killed and donated by S. A. Kirk and Lyean Johnson. Miss Jacobson was the chef, assisted by her students. Ezra J. Swenson arrived home Wednesday from St. Marks hospital, hospi-tal, where he recently underwent an operation for appendicitis. Mrs. Karl Banks, Mrs. H. W. Jacobs and Mrs. Annie Holman weie among the Relief Society Conference visitors at Salt Lake Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Adamson entertained at dinner Thursday in honor of their sixth wedding anniversary. an-niversary. The table decorations featured a basket of roses and a huge birthday cake. M'S. Christian Jensen of Provo will teach an adult class in Short Stoi - writing in Pleasant Grove, beginning October 6. Those interested inter-ested are invited to register with Mrs. Mae Grua. A small tuition fee will be charged. Twenty-five members of the Pleasant Grove High School Band motored to Salt Lake City Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon to attend a concert con-cert o fthe U. S. Marine Band. Music Director E. A. Beck accompanied ac-companied the students to the concert which was staged in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Hedquist Drug Company advertised adver-tised a simple mixture known as "A.dlerika." The new patented remedy rem-edy is said to relieve bloating from stomack gas in 15 minutes. |
