That fact becomes evident with only a casual peiusal of the 1960 financial fin-ancial report published in itemized item-ized detail in this issue of the Review. Re-view. Considerable commendation is due Mayor Burton H. Adams and the city council for their efficient effic-ient handling of the city's receipts re-ceipts and expenditures. With an assessed 1060 valuation valu-ation of $3,208,000 and the pos- ona.bly ample funds for 1961 proposed pro-posed expenditures. To begin with the i-exji-t shows General Fund revenues for I960 exceeded those estimated in the budg. t by $5,615. Total General Fund receipts were $112,153. Main items of the general fund receipts were as follows: Property Prop-erty taxes, $67,123; Class "C" road funds, $10,785; Garbage collection, col-lection, $5,773; business lie nsJs, $5,435; Out-of-City police and fire sei-vice, $-1,732 and state liquor fund $1,633; and fines and forfeitures for-feitures $1,315. General Fund expenditures totaled to-taled $116,330 with expmditures for the various categories as follows: fol-lows: General government, S16.-115.57; S16.-115.57; Public safety, $33,977.43; Public Works, $50,298.96; and Parks. Recreation and Cemetery, $11,952.04. Receipts from water sales and Sewer service totaled $78,979. Operating Op-erating expense was $31,73-1 and non operating expenses was $13,-375. $13,-375. .After deducting d:preeiation and other items the net profit from the water and sewer dept. was $12,622. As to bonded indebtedness, the original total of the Water and Sewer bonds was $585,000:' As of Dec. 31, 1960, $55,000 of this amount had been paid off, leaving leav-ing a total outstanding of $530,-o;)0. $530,-o;)0. During 1960, $18,802 -was ..:id in interest and $9,000 in bond n tirement. Regardless of how they feel about their federal income tax dollars, Pleasant Grove's citizens can rest assured that every dollar dol-lar paid in city taxes will be .-pent wisely and for the best interest in-terest of the majority.
