Show Pleasant Grove Locals The Second quorum of deacons of the Third ward under the direction direc-tion of their advisor, Harold S. Walker held their regular meeting at the home of one of their members, mem-bers, Calvin Carlson who has been unable to meet with the group because be-cause of a broken leg. Eugene Hilton, Hil-ton, first counselor of the quorum gave the lesson, "The Efficacy of Prayer." Mrs. Ethel W. Carlson, Mrs. Joseph Larson, Mrs. Max Larson, and Mrs. Clarence Hilton attended a shover on Friday in honor of Mrs. Ellen Pickering at the home of her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Wesley Jarvis of Salt Lake. Mrs. William C. Smith gave a talk on "The Influence of Home Beautification Beauti-fication on Family Life," at the First ward Relief society on Tuesday. Tues-day. Afterward the members of the society made quilt blocks to prepare for their annual bazaar which will be held soon. A correlation meeting of the officers offi-cers of auxiliary organizations of the Second ward was held at the home of Bishop C. R. Clark on Thursday evening. Counselor Ray Men-ill was in charge of the meeting meet-ing at which plans for the coming month's activities were discussed. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Galli of Midway and Mi-, and Mis. Lewis Sweat of Center Creek visited during dur-ing the week at the home of Mi-, and Mrs. J. P. Fugal. Mrs. Norma Adamson of Salt Lake spent a few days this week with her mother, Mrs. Ole Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, who has been ill at her home. Miss Miriam Adamson, who has spent the winter in New York at the home of Mrs. Wayne Driggs, returned re-turned home Wednesday at noon. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Adamson. Among the out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral fun-eral of Mrs. Margaret Lockhart Wilson Wil-son were the following: Mrs. Nettie Lockhart and son Dellis, Mercy and Sterling Peay, Murran Boren, Mabel Wright, Maurine Carlson, Dr. and Mrs. L. L. Cullimore, A. L. Cullimore, all of Provo; Oreen L. Walker, Orem; Or-em; William and Fontella Halliday of Kamas; Bert and Donna Carlson of Charleston, Thelma Shoell Wat-kins, Wat-kins, Mrs. Florence Coft of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ridd, Mrs. Frank Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Fay Smith of Garfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wanlass of Lehi, Mrs. May Crookston of American Fork, and Bishop J. W. Boyden of Wallsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Warnick of Manila have moved to Franklin, Idaho. From there Mr. Warnick will commute to Logan where he will attend the U.' S. A. C. An Easter program will be presented pre-sented at the Manila ward M. I. A. on Tuesday evening March 19, with Mrs. Larena Warnick in charge. Mrs. Mary Wright has been a guest this week at the home of her brother, Joseph Bezzant of Magna. She is expected home soon. Mr. and Mrs. Gene McCandlass and children of Eureka spent the week end at the Herman Green home. Mrs. Ernest Thane of California who came to Utah to attend the birthday party given in honor of her grandmother, Mrs. Annie Holman, and who has been visiting relatives and friends in Pleasant Grove and American Fork, left Monday for her home. Mrs. Thane was formerly Miss Annie Monson of this city. The Relief society of Manila ward, in cooperation with the parents of the ward, have arranged for whooping whoop-ing cough inoculations for all children chil-dren whose parents desire it. Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove city physician, Dr. B. C. Linebaugh, will be at the home of Mrs. W. W. Warnick, president of the ward Relief society at 10:30 on Saturday morning to give the inoculations. inocu-lations. Carol Dawn Warnick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Warnick, was hostess at a cleverly arranged party at her home on Saturday evening. The eleven guests, school friends, were Doris Peay, Dorothy Ann Nelson, Nel-son, Mary Jane Green, Eloise Richards, Rich-ards, Ray Walker, Reed and Eugene Mrs. Charles Holman entertained at a family dinner on Sunday in honor of her husband's birthday. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hanson of American Fork, parents of Mrs. Holman; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Elden Hanson, all of American Fork. Trekker Boys under the direction of RoyDeveraux presented the program pro-gram in the Second ward sacrament services on Sunday evening. Dean Walker was the principal speaker. Short talks were given by rteece Merrill and Kay Peterson. Earl A. Beck played a trombone solo. A boy was bora to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holman at the American Fork hospital, Sunday morning. Mr. Holman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bezzant, Gerald Jorgenson, Reed Benson. The evening was spent with games and luncheon. A letter from Miss Anna Fugal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fugal who left in February to become a missionary in the New England States, tells of her appointment as president of the M. I. A. in the Hartford, Conneticut branch where she is laboring. Mrs. David Walker was hostess at a quilting party at her home on Friday Fri-day afternoon. Dinner was served to the following guests: Emma Johnson, Emily Jensen, Mabe'ile Thorne, Josie Hudson, Sybil Green, Fern Hicks, all of Pleasant Grove, and Susie Christensen of American Fork. Willard Holman of Manila, and the mother of the baby was formerly Miss Rhea Allred of Provo. Jack Peterson of this city returned return-ed home last week after spending two months in Chicago where he has completed a course in air-conditioning. He has been studying the subject sub-ject by correspondence for some time. Enroute to Utah he visited relatives in several states and reports re-ports a very entertaining trip. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Anderson of Idaho Falls. Idaho, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ren Benson. Mrs. Anderson was formerly form-erly Miss La von Benson of this city. Mr. Anderson is employed with the Utah-Idaho Sugar company and is being transferred to Spanish Fork, where the family will settle in th-o near future. A baby girl was born Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Rasmusson. The mother was formerly Berniece Christiansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Christiansen of this city. Honoring the eighty-fifth birthday birth-day of J. L. Harvey, a family dinner was given by Mrs. Leo P. Harvey at her home, Sunday. Out-of-town guests were Dr. and Mrs. Dean A. Harvey and their small son Richard. Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Wright and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Fugal attended at-tended the performance of the B. Y. U. famous morality play, "Every-woman" "Every-woman" at College hall in Provo, Thursday evening of last week. Mrs. Wright played the leading role in this same drama when it was presented pre-sented by the B. Y. U. in 1932. Wayne Johnson, who was recently married to Miss Loree Allen of Kingston, and who is now living in Provo and attending the B Y. U., silent (he week-end with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Johnson.
