Show Travelers' Aid Work The first nonsectarian committee organized to do travelers' aid "work grew out of the plans for the St. Ixniis exposition in IfKM. A member mem-ber of the Young Women's Christian Chris-tian association saw a need for placing the unco-ordinated work In New York city on such a co-operative and nonsectarian basis, and Id 1905 she brought about the formation forma-tion of a committee of Protestant, Catholic and Jewish women, to make a survey of the work In that city. The resulting nonsectarian, noncommercial Travelers' Aid society so-ciety of the city of New York thus became the first Independently organized or-ganized agency for the protection and assistance of travelers. |
