Show FOURTH WARDERS TO BE TREATED TO TURKEY LUNCH j How the serving of gold gumdrops brought a promise of a "turkey dinner" din-ner" for the M. I. A. membership was the talk of the Fourth ward following fol-lowing the "Mutual" meeting Tuesday Tues-day night. The invitation to the ward to attend at-tend the meeting next Tuesday night, when the turkey dinner would be served, was extended by leaders of the Green side in the attendance contest. The leaders are Mrs. Laura Timpson, Miss Mary Pulley and Mrs. John Pulley. It happened this way: Francis Abel, Miss Gwen Richan and Miss Fern Robinson, leaders of the opposing oppos-ing Gold side in the contest, prepared pre-pared gumarop refreshments, to be given to all members attending the meeting. However, when the meeting meet-ing assembled, it was evident that the attendance contest had been such a success that the gumdrops would not go around. Meeting the situation as best he .could, Mr. Abel announced that the Green side would have the pleasure of seeing the Gold side enjoy the refreshments. Taking this as her cue, Miss Mary Pulley countered with an announcement announce-ment that all members of the Green side to a "turkey dinner." next Tuesday Tues-day night, at which time the Gold side will be the on-lookers. What form the "turkey dinner" would take was not announced, but ward members this week were anticipating anti-cipating the event. According to a late announcement, the stake presidency and their wives anu the stake board will be special guests. Ward members attending will be required first to get a green ribbon from the Green committee, named above before being in the favored group eligivle for the "treat". |
