Show Third Ward Presents Play The Pleasant Grove Third ward are presenting a famous three-act comedy, "Big Hearted Herbert" Saturday Sat-urday evening, February 8, in tlw High School Auditorium. There will be a matinee performance at 2:30 o'clock p. m- for the children and the evening performance will be at 8 p. m- The play takes place in a small eastern city at the present time. A brief synopsis follows: Herbert Kalness is a self-made man i who insists that his family must be brought up in plain traditions. When his daughter becomes engaged to a Harvard man, and his wife entertains enter-tains at a fashionable dinner for this Harvard man and his parents, Herbert nearly goes out of his mind with rage, especially when he finds his wife has put his father's portrait por-trait and his brass cuspidor in the closet. His wife overcomes his resistance re-sistance by becoming "a plain worn- an" with a vengeance ana entei-tains entei-tains his best customers on Irish stew and apple pie- The play is the kind that keeps you laughing from the first line to the la;t one and stays with you a long time in memory.
