Show Twin Cities team loses early in American Legion Tourney Twin Cities didn't go very far in this year's American Legion Tournament. Tour-nament. They dropped their first two games, causing them to exit the playoffs quite early. Their first defeat was an 11-2 pounding they suffered at the hands of Hillcrest at Kearns' Don Winski Park Saturday morning. Twin Cities threw Jed Hangsen for the first 1 12 innings, then had Justin Atwood pitch the next five. During that long thumping, Darrin Henry hit a solo homer, and Atwood scored the other run. Twin Cities tried redeeming itself by throwing Brandon Deveraux against Davis Monday afternoon. Twin Cities Coach Jim Kelley said Deveraux lasted 2 12 innings and gave up eight runs. Hansgen pitched for the first of the game. Davis scored one run in the first, five in the second, and one in the third. Twin Cities got a run in the second, then staged a seven-run rally in the fourth, tying the game at eight. During the rally, Jason Manning hit a solo homer. Davis surged back out in front and went on to eliminate the Utah County team. |
