V : ww- - Kalvn Warburton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Warburton of Pleasant Grove, will marry Kim Van Orman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Alan Van Orman of Cardston, Alberta, Canada, on Friday, May 13. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 7 to 9 at the Pleasant Grove Tenth Ward, 500 North and 700 East. The event is open to all friends and relatives. Bridal attendants will be Jill Mikkelson, Karen Van Orman, Jennifer Van Orman and Tiffney Warburton. Best man is Curtis Van Orman with Mark Remington, Mark Steinley, Scott Van Orman and Tyson Warburton attending. The bride-elec- t graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. She has attended Dixie College, Utah Valley Com-munity College, and will graduate from Salt Lake School of Interior Design in August. Her fiance graduated from Cardston High School and LDS Seminary. He attended BYU and is a senior at the University of Alberta, majoring in pre-me- He served an LDS mission in the Dearborn, Michigan Mission. Special guests are grandparents of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Sessions, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Frampton and Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Van Orman. The couple will live in Edmonton, Canada where he will continue his education. Kim Van Kalyn Warburton Manti Temple rites to unite Chad Atkinson, Diane Garbe Diane Garbe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Garbe of Orem, will marry Chad D. Atkinson, son of Dr. and Mrs. Duane F. Atkinson of Pleasant Grove, on Friday in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple that evening from seven until nine o'clock in the Orem 31st Ward, 641 South 400 East, Orem, Utah. The event is open to all friends and relatives. Bridal attendants are Debbie Gashler, Shauna Garbe, Delinda Garbe, Tawnie Christensen and Caytee Brook Atkinson. Bestman is Brett Anderson with Cody, Cabe, and Colby Atkinson attending. Cory Atkinson will be an honorary attendant because of service on an LDS mission. Special guests will be grand-parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Garbe, Mrs. Blowden Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Verl H. Kirk and Mrs. and Mrs. Thelbert Atkinson. The bride-elec- t graduated from Orem High School and LDS Seminary. She attended UVCC and is currently employed by Dr. Atkinson. Her fiance graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He served an LDS mission in Japan. He is currently attending UVCC and working at Goodtime Rentals. They will make their first home in Orem. Diane Garbe Chad D. Atkinson ' Cinderella ' auditions slated today and tomorrow The Spanish Fork Community Theatre will conduct auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" on May 11 and 12 at 9 pm in the Spanish Fork Middle School Jr. High, located at 600 South 820 East in Spanish Fork. Battlecreek Camp elects Colleen Gardiner captain Daugnters ot Utah Pioneers Battlecreek Camp held their closing social May 9 at the Lions Club House. Captain Alta Mae Wood welcomed the daughters and conducted the meeting. Thelma Yorganson gave i the opening prayer, A delicious luncheon was served ; af noon, after which the newly elected officers were installed. They are: Colleen Gardiner as captain; Lucille Faddis and Ruth Bezzant as An interesting lesson, "Children on the Trail," was given by JoAnn Liddle. A great number of children came with their parents ar-- they crossed the plains and entered the Salt Lake Valley. They helped lighten the load along the way and share the burdens. They arose each morning at 5 a.m. to participate in prayer. They herded the cows and sheep, S hunted rabbits, gathered cat tails along the banks of the streams. ! experienced death and helped bring comfort and joy into the camps. The usual good crowds turned out for the breakfast inspite of cold and rainy weather. Fred Keetch of the Fire Dept. said that 1.438 people attended the breakfast, only 5(1 less than last year. The Fire Dept. Auxiliary, spon sors of the breakfast, were grateful to Nortons Store which donated all of the supplies for the breakfast, ex-cept a small amount of the milk, and also donated the microwave. Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to purchase fire equipment and to assist in community projects. ! Nursing Home Week celebration set Alpine Valley Care Center will i celebrate National Nursing Home Week May Mothers were honored on their jj day Sunday, with flowers, a special dinner, and a program by the Fourth Ward during afternoon s church services. Monday it was "Hats Off to y National Nursing Home Week" with 'I everyone wearing hats. lj Tuesday the volunteers who give j so much of themselves were honored Wednesday they are going to have a bake sale. The TV is giving up and they need a little more help to go along with the money raised by past quilt raffles. They have enough to buy a 19" set but would really like to have a 25" one. The Center has tied a quilt, in plum and beige The tickets will sell :5 for SI. They hope the public will help them by donating andor buying a tasty treat on Wednesday Thursday the Senior Citizens have been invited to pl;r i'TW'" Mir lacility. This has become an annual event that the residents look for-war- d to. The hard-workin- g staff has not been forgotten and they are to be honored at a breakfast on Friday, May 13, cooked by the department heads of the facility. They also have a chance to have a paid day off. The department heads will work one shift for the lucky winners of a drawing held during staff meeting Tuesday. May 10. |
