Show Mendenhall to teach food preservation Dr. V.T. Mendenhall, USU Extension Ex-tension Food Science Specialist, has agreed to teach the Master Food Preserver Course this spring. F'or 1 tose who are not familiar with Master Food Preservers, a Master Food Preserver is a volunteer who I las been trained in updated food preservation techniques so that beshe can teach other groups of j people these same techniques . The course will be taught every for two weeks from April 9 to Pril 20. Each class period will be J hours long including lecture 1 f lab work. The class will be held : 11 the Utah Power & Light j, MMorium, 51 East Main, 1 American Fork. There will be room for 45 students per session. We would like volunteers to represent each major area of Utah County, so pre-registration will go according to "first-come, first-serve" first-serve" in each area. By the end of the course, students will have received 30 hours of updated instruction in-struction on food preservation; in return, they will be required to give 30 hours of community service by giving food preservation demonstrations demon-strations to groups in your area, answering food preservations calls at the Extension Office, etc. There will be a $15 charge for lab supplies and the resource materials given out in the class. |
