Show Ordinance No. 1983-101 1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTIONS SUB-SECTIONS B & D OF SECTION 1.3, OF CHAPTER 2, TITLE 6, OF THE CITY CODE OF PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH, TO PROVIDE FOR AN AMENDMENT OF FEES AND PENALTIES PERTAINING PER-TAINING TO DOG LICENSES AND AMENDING SUBSECTION SUB-SECTION G OF SECTION 1.2 OF CHAPTER 2, TITLE 6, OF THE CITY CODE OF PLEASANT GROVE CITY TO CHANGE THE calendar year, a five dollar ($5.00) fee snail be added to the license fee required to be paid, unless the owner of the dog by his own volition makes application for the license at the city office of public safety, whereupon said penalty fee shall be one dollar ($1.00). Dogs turning four (4) months old after February 28, or a newly acquired dog must be licensed within FIFTEEN (15) days. The penalties provided for in this subsection shall be in addition to the penalties hereinafter provided for PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS OF CHAPTER 2, ANIMALS AND FOWL FROM AN INFRACTION IN-FRACTION TO AC-CLASS AC-CLASS B MISDEMEANOR. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PLEASANT GROVE CITY, UTAH COUNTY, STATE OF UTAH, THAT SUBSECTIONS B & D OF SECTION 1.3, OF CHAPTER 2, TITLE 6, OF THE CITY CODE OF PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH, AND SUBSECTION SUB-SECTION G OF SECTION 1.2 OF CHAPTER 2, TITLE 6, OF THE CITY CODE OF PLEASANT GROVE CITY BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: 6-2-1.3(b) The license required by subsection (A) above, shall be issued by the Department Depart-ment of Animal Control upon payment by the applicant of a fee therefore of five dollars ($5.00) for each male or female dog and two dollars ($2.00) for each spayed or neutered dog. Said fee may be paid by the applicant to the city office of public safety or directly to the City Animal Control Officer. 6-2-1.3(D) The annual license fees provided for above shall be paid for each dog, male or female, kept within the city limits. Said fee shall be due on or before the first working day in January of each year and shall be delinquent or subject to the penalties hereinafter provided, if unpaid, on or before the last day of February of each year. Upon the failure to pay the license fee provided in subsection (B) above on or before the last day of February of each violation ot this chapter. Individuals moving into the city who own, keep or harbor a dog or dogs shall be required to license that dog or dogs within FIFTEEN (15) days after bringing said dogs into the city. 6-2-1. 2(G) Penalty:. Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be punished for each such violation by a fine of not more than $299.00 or by a jail sentence not to exceed SIX (6) months or by both said fine and said jail sentence. This ordinance shall take effect THIRTY (30) days after its passage or TWENTY (20) days after its publication, whichever is sooner. David R. Holdaway Mayor ATTEST: Mark H.
